Product Information
The Swix Star XC 3.0 split mitt is one of our most popular models. Three-finger gloves are more flexible than a mitten and such lobster-style mittens are ideal for cold-weather aerobic activities such as cross-country skiing, winter running and fatbiking as they will keep your fingers warm without overheating. The upper of the Star XC 3.0 is made of 4-way stretch lycra and lycra finger walls. The palm is synthetic leather with reinforced pads on the side and thumb for durability and protection while providing a good grip. These cross-country split mittens feature Swix's eXClusive Combi Cuff with contoured neoprene on upper and soft acrylic on palm side. Good for winter activities when it gets cold.

I followed the size chart and ended up as a size 8 but since they were sold out of women's sizes, I got the men's medium. The fingers are a a bit long but not horribly so and the palm is a good size sooooo I don't know if a smaller size would have been better... maybe. The chart was not entirely helpful in making a sound decision. I really love that there's thick padding on the backside of the hand so that it's protected from the cold. The only other complaint I have is that I can't really get my phone to recognize my touch so off comes my gloves if I want to take a pic while in the back country--which the beauty of my area calls for regularly. The tow & two singers is a game changer and my hands stay much warmer as result. I have been wearing these for the -5 to -15 temps.
When you need a warmer glove for x country skiing, this is a great choice. Men’s and women’s sizes are not equivalent. I tried men’s and women’s 7, the women’s size is narrower and fits better
Though these are really well made, quality mitts they are certainly not at all for cold weather. Anything past -5C and they can't keep fingers warm. Good for the shoulder seasons perhaps but not made for Canadian winters.
Not as warm as I thought, it is good in temperatures higher than -10°C. But below that temperature or with more wind I suggest putting in a liner.
